Fundraising for brand new books for your school or nursery
#transformyourschoollibrary with Usborne Books at Home – this year Usborne are aiming to give away more books than ever before free to schools and nurseries. There is absolutely no cost or fee for schools and nurseries to work with us.
We, as Independent Usborne Organisers do all the work for you. We provide templates of all the paperwork you’ll need including a letter to go home to parents/carers, sponsorship forms, reading/listening logs and posters to display around your setting.
We can provide a video for a launch assembly or to send to parents to explain how it all works and we can even put together an order for you when you have counted up all the money raised.
Your pupils/children are sponsored by family and friends to read as much as they can, or to listen to as many stories as possible over a period of time set by you (usually 1 week) Every penny raised is yours to spend on brand new Usborne books. In addition to the amount raised, we can top your total up by as much as 60%.
Schools raise on average £1000, so get £1600 to spend on new books.
Usborne have a huge selection of authors who write both exclusively for Usborne and for the wider publishing world, many of these authors have in the past offered author visits where they visit your school to talk all things books. With life changed by coronavirus we are working with some authors to provide Virtual Author visits so that pupils still get that same buzz from ‘meeting’ a real life author, hearing how they compose and write their books and giving the children an insight into the life of an author all whilst hopefully installing a love of literacy and a nudge to enjoy reading for pleasure!
The authors could also provide signed stickers to be put inside copies of their book which can be purchased by parents and your school will gain free books from any sales made.
